Mikel Arteta provides triple Arsenal injury update before Real Madrid | OneFootball

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has provided an update on the fitness situation in his squad.

This of course comes ahead of the Gunners’ highly-anticipated upcoming clash with Real Madrid.

Arsenal are primed to make the trip to Spain’s capital on Wednesday evening, for the 2nd leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie with reigning champions Real.

The north Londoners head into the matchup boasting a significant advantage, owing to a 3-0 rout in the tie’s opener at The Emirates last week.

In the days leading up to the return, though, Arsenal have been forced to sweat regarding the status of a number of important players.

Specifically, the capital outfit saw the availability of all of Thomas Partey, Jorginho and Ben White thrown into doubt.

Speaking to the media in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of the fitness of all three was put to Mikel Arteta.

And the Spanish tactician went on to confirm:

“Thomas Partey and Ben White will be available tomorrow. Jorginho unfortunately is not here. He hasn’t recovered.”
