Mike Penders set to join Strasbourg on loan from Chelsea | OneFootball

According to a report from L’Équipe, Mike Penders (19) is set to join Strasbourg on loan from sister club Chelsea. Negotiations between the Ligue 1 club and the Premier League club are progressing well over the temporary transfer of the Belgian stopper.

The Alsatian club are looking for a new goalkeeper, after Djordje Petrovic returned to Stamford Bridge following a loan spell at the Stade de la Meinau, in which he impressed. The Serbian goalkeeper is attracting interest from several clubs, including those in the Premier League.

Penders also spent last season on loan away from the West London club. The 19-year-old was on loan at Genk last season and made 26 appearances. He is now expected to make the switch to Chelsea’s sister club on a temporary transfer. The goalkeeper is currently with the Blues at the Club World Cup in the USA as they prepare to face PSG in the final of the competition.
