Manchester City have now booked a medical tests for incoming midfield signing Tijjani Reijnders, it has been revealed.

It was revealed earlier this week that AC Milan had reached an agreement with their counterparts from the Etihad Stadium over the financial package for the 26-year-old central midfielder this summer.

The Dutchman became the first player to see his own future confirmed as Manchester City go in search of multiple recruits to revive Guardiola’s playing squad after a disappointing season, and is set to sign on to a five-year contract with the Premier league giants.

From the side of City and the package they have put together for the Italian club, it is believed that there will be an initial guaranteed fee of €55 million for the midfielder, rising to €65 million via ‘easily achievable’ add-ons, and €70 million through ‘difficult’ add-ons.

But with Tijjani Reijnders currently away on international duty with the Netherlands, there has been a slight delay on the completion of a deal until now, with medical tests and a first visit to the City Football Academy training centre booked into the diary.

That is as revealed by transfer market insider Fabrizio Romano, who reports that Manchester City have now booked a medical for the AC Milan and Netherlands international midfielder, due to take place on Sunday.

The current understanding is also that Reijnders may only be the second through the doors of the Etihad Stadium to undergo medical testing, with Manchester City having reached an agreement with Wolves over the services of Rayan Ait-Nouri.

After striking personal terms with the Algerian defender and his entourage earlier in the week, it is now believed that the two Premier League clubs have agreed on a deal of around €40 million for the 23-year-old left-back.

Reporting from Fabrizio Romano has pointed towards a medical test being undertaken on Saturday, while attentions will be expected to switch over to a deal for Lyon’s Rayan Cherki, in what would likely be the final completed deal before the FIFA Club World Cup.

Beyond a trio of arrivals, Manchester City are expected to continue their hunt for a new right-back into the summer market, with Newcastle United’s Tino Livramento believed to be the number one goal, while other additions would likely depend on outgoings.
