Matthew Hoppe departs Middlesbrough after contract termination | OneFootball

American forward Matthew Hoppe has officially left Middlesbrough after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract.

The 23-year-old was labelled as a potential future star after breaking through with Schalke in the 2020/21 campaign, but things have not gone to plan in the years since.

After departing Gelsenkirchen in 2021, the former U.S. international has played less than 800 total minutes across spells with Mallorca, San Jose Earthquakes, and Middlesbrough.

Hoppe will now become a free agent.
