Veteran defender Mats Hummels was given the chance to play the entire second half in tonight’s 1-0 loss to Napoli.
After the match, Hummels spoke to Sky Sport about his complicated spell with the Giallorossi so far.
“Obviously it’s been far from perfect, things are not going well for the team,” said the ex-Borussia Dortmund man.
“I need to play to get back in the best possible condition,” he added.
“Today I saw a good team, we did well. What I’m seeing makes me think that we will improve in the next games.”
“Lukaku’s goal? In the moment I had the feeling that I could take the ball or that Svilar could take it. I thought that by putting my foot in I would score an own goal.”
“I didn’t do my best on that occasion. These are difficult situations to defend.”
