Crystal Palace continues to take it one step at a time across a frustrating 2024-25 campaign under Oliver Glasner but may be on their way to three points tonight at Portman Road.
The Eagles – who sat just outside of the bottom three at kick-off – raced to a 1-0 against fellow relegation candidates Ipswich in a crunch meeting in the run-up to the festive period.
And Palace fans will be delighted that it was big French striker Jean-Philippe Matate who found the back of the net in the 56th minute after he powered past Jacob Greaves before a cheeky finish over Arijanet Muric.
Mateta has been in top form for Palace in his last 30 league appearances for the club, bagging 18 goals and adding 3 assists in that time frame.
In the wake of a superb 2023-24 campaign, Mateta could be the key to guiding the capital side to a more lofty perch come the end of the season.
