Valencia CF lost to UD Las Palmas (1-3) in the matchday 10 of LALIGA EA Sports played this Monday at Mestalla. Pepelu gave Valencia CF the lead from eleven meters, but the rival team managed to turn the scoreboard around with two goals on the stroke of halftime and just before the hour mark.

In the first minutes, Valencia CF entered the game well planted on the pitch, intense, aggressive and with a contagious competitive spirit. Our team came out looking for the win from the opening whistle, with several actions down the left that ended in dangerous crosses looking for a finisher, and in the 11th minute a cross from the flank led to the goal that would open the scoreboard.

César Tárrega headed a ball towards the far post and it went out licking the top of the post in a play in which Mestalla was licking its lips and in which the referee called a penalty for a grab on Enzo Barrenechea in the 11th minute of play. Pepelu, from eleven meters, would again demonstrate his reliability beating Cillessen from halfway and put Valencia CF ahead (1-0).

Valencia CF continued to insist on trying to capitalize on the good sensations, but two meritorious actions by Cillessen before the half-hour mark prevented a goal in a stretch in which Valencia CF was clearly superior and had chances to score.

As the minutes went by, the good sensations of the rival team grew and Valencia CF lacked some continuity. In 43', on the stroke of halftime, the Canary Islands team brought the score back to level the scoreboard, taking advantage of a rebound in the area that Álex Muñoz would finish off (1-1). After the break, UD Las Palmas pulled their lines together and retreated to try to protect themselves against the Valencian team's attempts to score the second goal.

The match was complicated, and in 53' the visitors scored again, this time in an isolated action in which Campaña set up Fábio Silva, who, inside the area, put the scoreboard at 1-2. After the goal, Baraja brought on several players such as André Almeida and Diego López to look for a reaction.

Later, it was Gayà's turn to return after several months of injury, but the captain's introduction was not enough to turn the game around. In the final stretch, Gil Manzano would send off Pepelu in an incomprehensible way to the disbelief of our team for the referee's decision after an action provoked by a rival player.

The referee was again the protagonist in another action protested by our team after not pointing out some hands of the rival team. The team, down to ten men, tried to close the gap and, after a mistake in the opponent's start, had a clear chance to equalize, but Cillessen and the Canary Islands defense, who cleared the ball under the posts, prevented the second goal.
