Burnley have wrapped up the signing of Martin Dubravka, bringing in the experienced goalkeeper from Newcastle United on a one-year deal.
The Slovakian shot-stopper leaves St James’ Park after seven and a half years, during which he made 179 appearances and kept 51 clean sheets across all competitions.
His arrival at Turf Moor comes amid a bit of a reshuffle in the goalkeeping departments at both clubs. Newcastle had been keen on Burnley’s James Trafford earlier in the window, but the 22-year-old ended up rejoining Manchester City.
The Magpies have since brought in Aaron Ramsdale on loan from Southampton, with a view to making the deal permanent next summer.
With Trafford gone, Burnley were also in the market for a new keeper and Dubravka now fills that gap.
He becomes the eighth new face through the door at Burnley this summer, following the signings of Weiss, Quilindschy Hartman, Axel Tuanzebe, Loum Tchaouna, Kyle Walker, Jacob Bruun Larsen, and Lesley Ugochukwu.
