The departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (35) to Saudi Arabian side Al-Qadsiah has left Olympique Marseille rushing to find a replacement, with La Provence reporting that the club are prioritising a move for Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah (25).

Nketiah is seen as someone who could immediately enter the team and become the starting striker over Faris Moumbagna (24). Moumbagna has yet to fully convince Marseille since he joined the club in the January transfer window that he is capable of being more than an understudy.

La Provence have revealed that Marseille are close to agreeing personal terms with Nketiah who is thought to be keen on joining Roberto De Zerbi’s project. However, they suggest that there remains a divide between Arsenal and Marseille’s valuation of the English forward.

Marseille remain optimistic over Eddie Nketiah

The Marseille-based outlet further writes that they do not believe Arsenal are fully committed to selling Nketiah who remains under contract at the Premier League side until 2027. However, they have previously reported that Les Phocéens are optimistic that they can forge a deal.
