Marseille consider move for Chelsea’s Renato Veiga | OneFootball

Olympique de Marseille are looking to bring in at least one central defender this summer and have now made an enquiry about Chelsea’s Renato Veiga (21), according to Le Parisien.

The list of names linked with Marseille is growing. Aymeric Laporte, Facundo Medina, and Wesley Fofana have all been touted as targets for Roberto De Zerbi, who is desperate to add defensive reinforcements. Despite a second-place finish in Ligue 1, OM were often susceptible defensively. It is therefore an area of the pitch that sporting director Medhi Benatia is focusing on ahead of next season’s UEFA Champions League campaign.

Veiga is now linked with a move to the Vélodrome, as he was last January. The Portuguese defender spent the second half of last season on loan at Juventus, however, his future is unclear. Marseille have now made an enquiry to Chelsea regarding the player’s availability, with a view to a move this summer.
