After extracting a 2-2 draw against Liverpool, Aston Villa overpowered Chelsea 2-1 to showcase their good form. Their next game is against Crystal Palace in an away form in the Premier League this week. They will look to extend their good run.

The Villans are eighth on the points table and need to keep adding points if they wish to earn a Champions League berth for next season. This game will also be important considering that Unai Emery’s side plays their fifth round in the FA Cup this weekend.

Defence

Emiliano Martinez had a decent game but could’ve done better to avoid Chelsea’s only goal. However, he continues to don the gloves for the Villans. Right-back Matty Cash wasn’t up to the mark and will look to redeem himself this week.

As Axel Disasi is available again after missing the previous game due to ineligibility, he should form the heart of the defence with Ezri Konsa. No change at the left full-back spot as Ian Maatsen continues to play there.

Midfield

The midfield duo of John McGinn and Youri Tielemans is working well for the Villans. Hence, Unai Emery wouldn’t want to risk anything in the middle of the park by altering anyone.

Attack

Morgan Rogers should continue to operate on the right flank while Marco Asensio is likely to play as the attacking midfielder after his winner against the Blues.

For the left flank, Marcus Rashford could get the nod after his impactful performance coming off the bench. It means Jacob Ramsey will have to warm the bench at the time of the first whistle. Ollie Watkins, on the flip side, continues to lead the offensive line.

Ross Barkley, Pau Torres, Boubacar Kamara, Amadou Onana and Tyrone Mings are all unavailable for the selection.
