According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Valencia have rejected the first Milan offer for Javi Guerra of €20m including add-ons, hoping for more than €25m.

Multiple sources have stated the figures on the table, although there is some variation on how much of it is a fixed fee and what percentage is reserved for add-ons.

Regardless, Marca report today that Valencia turned down the opening proposal of €20m and fully expect the Rossoneri to come back in with a higher bid.

Guerra can be sold at the right price

There is some extra complication here for Valencia, because they only own 70 per cent of the midfielder, owing his former club Villarreal a 30 per cent cut of the transfer fee.

Even if they did a deal for €25m, that would mean handing €7.5m over to Villarreal, which would make it an insufficient profit.

On the other hand, Valencia also know Guerra’s contract only runs to June 2027 and his value could drop the closer he gets to the expiry.

Milan have history with Valencia, as the negotiations for Yunus Musah dragged on for a while in 2023 until they got a deal over the line for €20m plus add-ons.

The 22-year-old is a firm target for new coach Max Allegri and although it could take some time, Guerra is increasingly likely to end up at San Siro.
