The Red Devils announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.
Manchester United signed Clinton from Barclays Women’s Super League rivals Everton in summer 2022. The 21-year-old was initially eased into life at Manchester United and she has enjoyed loan spells at Bristol City and Tottenham Hotspur in the last couple of seasons to further her development. Clinton’s most recent loan spell at Spurs saw her shine and the player has grasped the opportunity at Manchester United with both hands since returning to her parent club at the end of last season.
This season has seen Clinton cement her place in the Manchester United side. The player has started all 10 of The Red Devils’ matches in this season’s Barclays Women’s Super League while she has scored four goals. Clinton’s club form has also helped her claim her place in Sarina Wiegman’s England squad.
Clinton is one of the most talented young players in the country. She has already shown what she is capable of, although there is much more to come. With that in mind, Manchester United have moved quickly to extend the player’s deal by an additional year.
