Manchester United’s 2-2 draw against Everton in Georgia gave fans plenty to cheer about as Bryan Mbeumo made a promising debut for the Red Devils.
United’s new-look attack, featuring Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, created a lot of chances against David Moyes’ men. They did well going forward in Chicago as well, scoring four goals against Bournemouth.
However, the side’s midfield remains a cause of concern. In particular, Manuel Ugarte’s erratic display against Everton left many fans worried.
United are prioritising signing another attacker, but it is no secret that they are interested in adding a midfielder to their ranks, one who is capable of adding dynamism and technical ability to Ruben Amorim’s midfield.
According to Turkish outlet Takvim (via Sport Witness), United are among the clubs interested in Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara.
The former Norwich City midfielder has enjoyed a brilliant campaign in Turkey, impressing many with his passing range and composure in possession.
It is claimed United are “lining up an offer” for the 26-year-old Brazilian. The expectation is that the Mancunians will table their proposal “in the coming days”.
However, Galatasaray are keen to keep Sara and will not let him leave easily. It is understood the Turkish giants would be looking for offers in the region of €40 million (£34.8m) for their star midfielder.
Sara moved to Istanbul from Norwich in a deal worth around £20m in 2024 after two seasons in the Championship.
Meanwhile, United youngster Toby Collyer could find himself playing in the Championship next season.
Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Collyer is set to leave United on loan this summer “for the benefit of his development.”
The report added that Collyer’s loan move “is expected to clear the pathway for a midfield signing.”
