Manchester United have received a boost in their pursuit to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, PSG will let the French striker leave the club next month.
PSG manager Luis Enrique has no faith in Muani, leading to the club’s decision to dispose of him.
The 26-year-old has started two games across all competitions this season and has not been named in the squad in the last two Ligue 1 games.
He was expected to lead the attack in the absence of Goncalo Ramos, but Enrique preferred to use other options. Ramos’ return to fitness has moved him further down the pecking order.
Man United have been linked with the France international. They are reportedly in contact with PSG over signing him on loan for the rest of the season.
The Red Devils need to bolster their attack, but they need to do so with proven forwards
They signed Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, but neither player has consistently produced the goods.
Muani is not better than Hojlund and Zirkzee, which should be enough to prevent United from signing him.
He has failed to impress with PSG and would be a risky signing for United.
Manager Ruben Amorim needs a striker who will hit the ground running quickly. Muani does not fit the bill.
