Manchester United team news vs Fulham

Man United’s deep injury crisis means they could miss up to nine players for this affair.

Lisandro Martinez and Amad Diallo will miss the rest of the season, the former suffering an ACL tear at the start of February and the latter an ankle injury.

Patrick Dorgu picked up a red card in the Red Devils’ 3-2 win over Ipswich Town in the mid-week, and will serve the first part of his three-match ban against Fulham.

Also missing from Man United’s back line are Jonny Evans and Luke Shaw, whose return dates are currently unknown. Kobbie Mainoo could return next month, but he will definitely be out for Sunday’s clash.

Capping off the absentee list for Ruben Amorim’s side are Toby Collyer, Mason Mount and Altay Bayindir, who are “recovering”, according to the Portuguese boss, but are still unavailable.

Chido Obi over Hojlund?

Rasmus Hojlund has often been the focal point of criticism amid Man United’s woeful record in front of goal this season. The Red Devils have netted just 33 in 27 Premier League games and are on track to log their worst goalscoring tally ever in the competition (46), currently 49 in 2015-16.

Hojlund has managed just two league goals this term, and has endured a drought in all competitions that dates back to mid-December.

The £72million signing has blanked in his last 12 league games but, arguably even more concerning, is that he has only had 16 shots in the top flight in 2024-25.

Meanwhile, academy star Chido Obi has found minutes under Amorim in recent weeks in light of Man United’s injury woes. The 17-year-old has logged minutes in two of their last three games and could be poised for a more regular role in Amorim’s XI.

Despite Hojlund’s dismal form, Amorim insisted this week that “if we improve the way we play the game he will have more opportunities to score”. However, the manager may be forced to look to his bench if the No 9’s struggles continue.
