In a recent report, The Sun mentioned that Manchester United have set their sights on Southampton winger Tyler Dibling. It has been stated that the Red Devils are hoping to get a deal done for the English youngster this summer.

Dibling’s Impressive Form In The Premier League

Dibling managed to catch the eye at times on the right side of Southampton’s attack in the previous campaign. The 19-year-old found the back of the net four times and secured three assists in 38 matches for the Saints last season across multiple competitions.

The talented teenager proved his worth on the right flank and did well to average 1.34 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. However, he only kept 32.1% of his attempts on target. Still, Dibling deserves a ton of credit for completing 81.3% of his attempted passes in the English top flight (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at St. Mary’s Stadium will run out in the summer of 2027 which could make it difficult for the Red Devils to sign him this off-season.

Manchester United Have Set Their Sights On Dibling: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Dibling can use his quickness to get in behind the opponent’s backline and is a decent dribbler with the ball. He can strike the ball with power from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third.

The English talent is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also operate as an attacking midfielder or as a centre-forward if told to do so. The gifted winger has already got some valuable experience in the Premier League but is still quite raw and would need more time before he can be a consistent performer at the highest level.

We can expect Dibling to enhance the quality of Man United boss Ruben Amorim’s frontline in the long run. At 19, he has already managed to shine with his performances in the Premier League. Dibling is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future, so the Red Devils should focus on stepping up their efforts to land him in this summer transfer period.
