Gabriele Biancheri is attracting rave reviews for his performances in Manchester United’s youth teams. The young forward is impressing key figures at the club, including Jason Wilcox.

As a football club, Manchester United have always laid foundations with youth players, to build for a positive future.

Members of the renowned academy all dream and aspire to the next Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo. The aim to get first-team opportunities and to eventually become part of the manager’s plans.

Under Erik ten Hag, the young players can see a pathway into the first-team and that is crucial for a club like United.

The name of everyone’s lips right now is Gabriele Biancheri.

Aged 17 (18 in two weeks), Biancheri has started the season with a goal against rivals Man City in the U18 league opener, a brace in the U18 Premier League Cup against Leicester City, scoring with his first touch in the U21s clash at Blackburn Rovers, and most recently he opened the scoring in the U18s 2-0 win over Liverpool.

This has led to key figures at the club paying closer attention to Biancheri, and they will want to assure that he keeps improving as developing as a first-team prospect.

According to the Daily Mail, technical director Jason Wilcox is among those to have kept a close eye on Biancheri.

The report states: “It’s early in the season but Biancheri has coaches and scouts salivating at his potential.”

Wilcox was in attendance to see Biancheri score twice in the U18s final league game of last season and the youngster has started the new campaign on a positive note.

The Welsh teenager scored 17 goals for the impressive treble-winning U18s side last season. He also found the back of the net on two occasions for the U21s.
