Manchester City are eyeing Real Madrid forward Rodrygo following a series of attacking injuries, claims a report from Football Insider.

As the transfer window approaches its end, City are actively exploring potential signings to bolster their squad and it has emerged that the 23-year-old Rodrygo is back on their radar.

This comes in response to recent setbacks, including a serious injury to Oscar Bobb and an unfortunate injury to debutant Savinho during City’s 2-0 victory over Chelsea in their opening match of the season.

Bobb suffered a broken leg, which is a significant blow to City’s attacking options. Savinho, who had shown promising signs in his debut, also faced an injury, adding to City’s concerns.

The situation is further compounded by the departure of Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid. Losing Alvarez, a key player for City, has intensified the urgency for the club to strengthen their squad.

As a result of these events, Rodrygo has emerged as a potential target for City, but securing his services might be challenging.

The Premier League champions would need to shell out between £70-80 million to make the transfer happen, a sum that could be a stumbling block.

Moreover, Rodrygo has expressed his intention to stay at Real Madrid and fight for his place in the team, as evidenced by his appearance in the recent UEFA Super Cup final.

Despite City’s interest, the Brazilian’s commitment to Madrid and his hefty price tag make this transfer a difficult one to complete.

Real Madrid are also not expected to be keen on parting with the forward during this transfer window, which could render any potential deal nearly impossible.

Above all, we have reported before that Real Madrid have closed the doors on any high-profile exit this summer as they feel the squad is now complete to fight for the remaining titles of the season.
