While the international break continues Manchester City will return to Premier League action this weekend. Pep Guardiola’s side will host Brentford this Saturday as they look to continue their winning start to the new season. Ahead of Saturday’s match, the champions appear to have received a boost on the injury front ahead of the return of domestic football.

Brazilian international Savinho missed Manchester City’s 3-1 win over West Ham due to a knee injury before the international break. It was a blow for City considering how well Savinho had begun his career at the Etihad. But the Brazilian winger has posted an image on his official Instagram account that he is continuing to build his fitness in Manchester. That is a positive sign for Manchester City ahead of this weekend’s clash with Brentford.

There was also positive news for Manchester City during Spain’s 4-1 win over Switzerland. City’s midfield general general Rodri got through 58 minutes in Spain’s hard fought win. Rodri had missed Manchester City’s first three Premier League games of the season as he recovered from his heavy workload for Spain last summer. But Rodri got through his work for Spain with minimal fuss in positive news for the world champions.

As it stands currently Oscar Bobb is the only player out due to injury. The young Norwegian international is currently recovering from a fractured leg. With Rodri continuing to work his way to full fitness and Savinho working on his own to recover from a knee injury Pep Guardiola may have a full squad to choose from this weekend. Given the hectic schedule City face after the international break that is positive news for the champions.
