Yesterday a report from Fabrizio Romano over the future of Maximo Perrone had given the impression that Manchester City could potentially be making a mistake in the transfer market. Romano reported that Como was in talks with City over a loan deal for Perrone with an obligation to buy clause included in the deal. That could have been a mistake by the champions given the potential of what type of player Perrone could become. But a new report indicates that Manchester City has avoided making that mistake regarding Perrone.

Fabrizio Romano has today reported that Como has sealed a loan deal for Maximo Perrone. Romano adds that a medical is scheduled for Perrone over the next 24 hours. Furthermore, Romano adds that there is no obligation to buy clause included in the deal.

As reported yesterday it could have been a mistake for Manchester City to sanction a future sale of Maximo Perrone. The young Argentinian midfielder looks to have all of the attributes necessary to succeed at City. He looks to have the necessary technical and tactical attributes to develop into a fine midfielder. The hope is that another loan spell can further his development. Perrone showed signs during his time with Las Palmas last season. A loan spell in Serie A with Como should further aid his progression as a player.

By not including an obligation to buy clause in Perrone’s loan move to Como, Manchester City maintain control over the player’s future. If Perrone begins to fulfil his potential as a player he may play his way into City’s first team next season. But if he doesn’t Manchester City can potentially sell Perrone to the highest bidder. Having full control of this situation is a better scenario for the world champions.

Maximo Perrone looks set to complete a loan move to Como in the coming days. That move should give him further first-team opportunities to further develop his game. It also looks like the champions have avoided making a rare mistake in the market by maintaining control of Perrone’s future. That’s a positive in what has been a busy week for Manchester City.
