A number of clubs are reportedly seeking to take advantage of Manchester United's open financial struggles by trying to strike agreements over existing transfer clauses.
United's controversial cost-cutting measures reached a new level earlier this week when they announced a 'transformation plan', which is expected to feature up to 200 further redundancies of non-playing staff in a bid to counter five years of continuous losses.
With Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS exploring ways to raise money as soon as possible, The Telegraph state clubs who have previous dealings with United are looking to take advantage by buying out sell-on clauses.
The likes of Mason Greenwood, Hannibal Mejbri and Facundo Pellistri have all left United recently in deals which include mammoth sell-on clauses, while other departures are also believed to include more modest agreements which would bring United small sums of money from any future sales.
The report states there are several clubs who are now looking to negotiate immediate buy-outs of those clauses, guaranteeing United a sum of money right now if they agree to waive their right to what would likely be a larger fee further down the line.
United's desire to raise money has also seen them accept that no player in the squad can be viewed as untouchables.
This change in stance has seen the likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund attract interest, while midfielder Kobbie Mainoo was linked with Chelsea in January.
