Manchester United might be hellbent on offloading Jadon Sancho this summer, but the winger appears to be running out of suitors.

The Red Devils have succeeded in revamping their attacking department by luring in Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko who will form a new-look attacking trident. However, they still have some work to do on the exit front.

Ruben Amorim had long identified Sancho and four others as surplus to requirements, but thus far, the club has only been able to send Marcus Rashford away to Barcelona, while the others are still lingering at the periphery of the renovated Carrington.

Sancho’s future shrouded in mystery

A few weeks ago, Sancho almost appeared to be spoilt for choice, with the likes of Juventus, Napoli, Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Besiktas all vying for his services.

However, the Englishman wasn’t enticed by a move to Istanbul, but he appeared keen on a move to Turin.

Nevertheless, after weeks of negotiations, Juventus decided to put Sancho’s move on hold, prioritising the transfer of Francisco Conceicao.

Afterwards, a third spell at Borussia Dortmund was mentioned as a possibility. The London native enjoyed his best days at the German club, especially in his original spell between 2017 and 2021.

However, reputable German journalist Christian Falk quashes this rumour, insisting that Sancho’s return to BVB isn’t on the table.

Three reasons why Dortmund aren’t interested in Jadon Sancho

As he explained in his latest column for the Daily Briefing, Falk revealed that the Bundesliga giants consider the England international ill-suited to Nico Kovac’s system.

While Man United’s asking price of  €18m-20m [£15.6m-17.3m] won’t be an issue, the player’s salary of €20m [£17.3m] represents another damning reason for the German club to look elsewhere.

Finally, Dortmund weren’t entirely convinced by Sancho’s displays during his brief loan spell in 2024, as he only managed to score two goals and provide three assists in 21 appearances.

Sancho tried to resurrect his career last season at Chelsea, and was off to an impressive start, with Ian Wright dubbing him an ‘amazing’ player. However, his levels dropped in the second half of the campaign, as he ended up losing his starting berth in Enzo Maresca’s lineup.
