Manchester United could reportedly part ways with their first-choice goalkeeper Andre Onana next summer as new suitors emerge on the scene.
The Red Devils splashed circa £47 million to secure the Cameroonian’s signature in the summer of 2023 following an exceptional campaign with Inter Milan, as Erik ten Hag was keen to reunite with his old Ajax pupil.
However, the 28-year-old has proven to be an error-prone custodian, even though he’s capable of producing stunning saves on some occasions. He has also been described as an ‘unpopular’ player due to his tendency to showboat rather than pull off steady saves.
In recent weeks, United have been linked with other shot-stoppers, including Burnley’s James Trafford who has become an England international under Thomas Tuchel. However, offloading Onana without registering a capital loss has been perceived as a difficult mission.
But according to TalkSport, the struggling goalkeeper could be on his way out of Old Trafford, as he’s been ‘unsettled’ for a long time. As the source explains, the goalkeeper has admirers in the Saudi Pro League who would be able to meet Man Utd’s asking price.

Therefore, it remains to be seen if the Red Devils will be able to strike an agreement with a Saudi club, which would pave the way for the arrival of a new custodian who receives Ruben Amorim’s approval.
This season, the Cameroon international has made 40 appearances for Man Utd in all competitions, conceding 53 goals in the process, while registering only nine clean sheets. His contract with the Premier League giants is valid until June 2028, and has an option for another year.
Despite his shaky displays between the sticks, his position between the sticks has never been under real threat, even though some urged the club to give more room for Altay Bayindir.
