Manchester United youngster Jack Moorhouse has reportedly reached an agreement with the club over a new contract, which he will sign before heading out on loan,  transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed.

United have been organising loan moves for a number of their talented youngsters after they failed to qualify for European football.

Ruben Amorim is thought to be intent on operating with a trimmed-down squad to concentrate on league progress after a forgettable 2024/25 season. With fewer fixtures on the calendar, opportunities for younger players will be limited, and United are eager to avoid stunting their development. As a result, the club is exploring loan moves to ensure they gain valuable first-team experience elsewhere.

The likes of Sonny Aljofree, Radek Vitek, Enzo Kana-Biyik and Dan Gore are just some of the United talents that have already secured loan exits.

A previous report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United were keen on loaning out Moorhouse, who has enjoyed a gradual rise through the ranks at Carrington.

Leyton Orient were mentioned as an interested party in the midfield technician and now, Romano has confirmed that Moorhouse will join them ahead of 2025/26.

Romano wrote on X, “Excl: Jack Moorhouse has agreed to a new contract with Manchester United and will join Leyton Orient on a season-long loan.”

“Decision made after attracting loan interest from several clubs.”

Regarded as one of the best talents in United’s academy, Moorhouse repeatedly trained with the first team last term and was even named on the substitute bench for a few matches.

However, he has yet to make his competitive debut for the Red Devils. The 19-year-old was part of United’s post-season tour of Asia and featured in the 3-1 comeback win over Hong Kong.

Moorhouse made his debut for the United-18s when he was just 15 and has been a regular for the Under-21s since making the step up last summer.

He is eligible to play for the Republic of Ireland, and was received his first U21 cap at international level in March.
