Manchester United and Brentford’s negotiations for Bryan Mbeumo are seemingly at advanced stages.
It comes after the Red Devils submitted an improved second offer worth upwards of £60 million all-in on Monday, which is now around the fee Brentford were expecting.

Ben Jacobs and Alex Crook have confirmed this afternoon that talks are ‘progressing positively’ between all parties, with the remaining details to hash out being the add-ons included in the deal.
Additionally, United are keen to wrap things up as swiftly as possible, as the club ‘want to confirm Mbeumo’ before the squad reports for pre-season on July 7, giving them 12 days to cross the t’s and dot the i’s on the player’s Old Trafford switch.
He is poised to join Ruben Amorim’s ranks in the aftermath of a career-best campaign, having notched 20 Premier League goals and contributed a further eight assists throughout the term. What’s more impressive, Mbeumo was available to start every single league fixture and accumulated a total of 3,417 minutes of playing time.

For comparison, United’s most reliable star — both in performances and availability — is Bruno Fernandes, and he featured for 3,023 minutes in the top flight last season.
Mbeumo, 25, will join Matheus Cunha as the Reds’ only other summer signing thus far. Both are said to be earning the same wage, believed to be in the region of £150,000 per week.
It remains to be seen whom INEOS will pursue once the Cameroonian’s transfer is finalised, especially given that numerous positions across the pitch are in need of reinforcements.
