In an exciting twist to Manchester United’s summer transfer plans, the club is reportedly in discussions with Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo according to talkSPORT. This comes on the heels of the forward’s stellar campaign, which has seen him shine in the Premier League. Mbeumo, who bagged an impressive 20 goals and provided seven assists for Brentford, has quickly become one of the league’s most sought-after talents. As Manchester United begins to sharpen their squad for the next season, Ruben Amorim’s side is keen to strengthen in the forward areas, with Mbeumo a top target.
Bryan Mbeumo’s 2024-25 Premier League campaign has been nothing short of remarkable. With his 20 goals, he finished the season as one of the league’s top scorers, trailing only Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak, and Erling Haaland in that category. Mbeumo’s contributions were instrumental in securing Brentford’s 10th-place finish in the table. His dynamic play on the wing and clinical finishing have made him an invaluable asset for Thomas Frank’s side.

Mbeumo’s performances have undoubtedly piqued the interest of some of England’s biggest clubs. Manchester United is at the forefront of these discussions, and with just one year left on his contract, Brentford may be forced to part with the 25-year-old to avoid losing him for nothing in 2026.
It’s clear that Manchester United is acting swiftly in their bid to bolster the squad. Mbeumo, who has proven himself in the Premier League, would be an excellent addition for a side looking to make a serious push for European football next season. Mbeumo’s arrival would not only strengthen United’s attacking options but also provide a versatile forward capable of playing across the front line.
Brentford’s valuation of the winger is set at around £50 million, and while United are moving quickly, they face competition from other Premier League clubs. Newcastle has also shown interest in Mbeumo, which could drive up the asking price and add a level of urgency to United’s pursuit.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank has already suggested that Mbeumo’s future could lie elsewhere, acknowledging the inevitable interest in his star player. Speaking to the press, Frank stated, “I can definitely understand the interest in him. There should be interest in him. He is at his best age, he has scored 20 goals.” Frank’s comments reflect the club’s realistic approach to the situation. As a club with a more limited budget, Brentford may not be able to keep hold of their top assets if the right offers come in.
“I would like to keep him, but we are a selling club, so if someone comes in with the right price,” Frank added, further confirming that Mbeumo’s departure could be on the cards.

Manchester United are not stopping at Mbeumo in their summer overhaul. The club is also set to complete a deal for Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers in a £62.5 million move. Cunha, another dynamic forward, will be United’s first major signing of the summer, but the club’s plans do not end there.
United is also looking to sign Liam Delap, with the young striker having a £30 million release clause at Ipswich Town. However, Chelsea has reportedly entered the race for Delap, adding further competition in United’s already crowded transfer hunt.
With Marcus Rashford expected to make a permanent exit, and Alejandro Garnacho potentially on his way out, Ruben Amorim will be keen to bring in new attacking players. In Mbeumo, United could secure a player who offers guaranteed goals, alongside the added benefit of experience in the Premier League.
As a passionate Manchester United supporter, I must admit that the idea of Bryan Mbeumo joining the Red Devils has me excited. The winger’s goal-scoring ability is something we desperately need. Watching Mbeumo rack up goals alongside players like Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland this season has been impressive, and having him at Old Trafford could really add some firepower to our forward line.
Ruben Amorim has made it clear that he’s looking to strengthen in wide areas, and Mbeumo fits that bill perfectly. With Marcus Rashford seemingly out the door, Mbeumo could be a direct replacement for the out-of-form winger, offering not only goals but also much-needed versatility. His ability to play across the front three would give Amorim plenty of options and tactical flexibility.
What excites me the most, though, is the speed with which United is acting. The club is not waiting around for the summer window to heat up but has already lined up deals for key players. Matheus Cunha will add some much-needed depth to the squad, and if we manage to land Mbeumo, that would really be a statement of intent.
In terms of Mbeumo’s potential move, the price tag of £50 million seems reasonable given his performances. It’s clear that he is capable of thriving in the Premier League, and that’s exactly the kind of quality United should be targeting. If we manage to secure his services, I feel confident that we can challenge for a top-four finish and secure a return to European competition.
There’s no doubt that the summer ahead is crucial for United, and this move for Mbeumo could be one of the key signings that propels us forward. Let’s just hope the club acts swiftly before other Premier League rivals steal a march on us. The future looks bright under Amorim, and bringing in Mbeumo would be a massive step in the right direction.
