Ruben Amorim and the Premier League giants have endured a difficult season despite qualifying for the Europa League final where they will come up against Tottenham.

Man United ahead of competition for Semenyo

Red Devils have moved ahead of rival Premier League clubs Arsenal and Newcastle United in the race to sign the Bournemouth attacker.

Semenyo has been a revelation this season for Bournemouth, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists in 40 appearances in all competitions.

His versatility allows him to function as a central striker, winger, or even in a deeper attacking role, making him an attractive prospect for United boss Amorim.

As per the report, the Red Devils are looking to offload Alejandro Garnacho this summer because of PSR issues.

With Garnacho’s status being home-grown, his sale would be added as pure profit in their books and that has made the club consider offloading him.

The likes of Marcus Rashford and Antony, who are both currently out on loan, face an uncertain future at Old Trafford and they are likely to leave the club this summer.

Amorim needs more attacking depth

That would require United to sign a wide attacker who can fill the void left by the players who are expected to leave the club.

Semenyo has a long term contract with Bournemouth that lasts till 2029 which puts Andoni Iraola’s side to demand a massive transfer fee for the attacker.

Securing Semenyo would not only strengthen United’s attacking options but also provide depth in their attack.

Amorim’s side have also shown serious interest in signing Ipswich Town attacker Liam Delap and they are currently ahead of Chelsea in the race to sign him.
