Real Madrid reaped the rewards of Jude Bellingham’s clutch gene various times throughout the 2023/2024 campaign.

Having scored last-minute goals against Barcelona, Union Berlin, and Getafe, Bellingham is continuing to snatch victories from the jaws of defeats on the international stage.

Indeed, the England national team is similarly benefitting from Bellingham’s ability to thrive under pressure and score crucial goals, with the youngster most recently scoring an equalizing bicycle kick in stoppage time against Slovakia.

Phil Foden not short of praise for Bellingham

Now, Bellingham’s international teammate Phil Foden has waxed lyrical over Bellingham’s ability to constantly step up in crucial moments.

“I thought I was 30 seconds away from doing baby feeds at home. So thanks to Jude for that goal, thanks for doing it, he saved me there,” Foden humourously claimed via Daily Star (h/t Madrid Zone).

Saving England from a pre-mature exit in the Euros round of 16, Bellingham’s goal ensured the game went to extra time, where Harry Kane ultimately scored the winning goal.

Sharing a sentiment most Real Madrid fans hold, Foden claimed: “Honestly, it’s unbelievable, what Jude did. It just sums him up. He never gives up until the end.”

England manager Gareth Southgate has often been accused of shoehorning Bellingham and Foden into the same team, with some claiming they cannot coexist together.

Foden was asked if he believed he and Bellingham couldn’t play together, to which he replied, “I don’t agree, I feel we do work good together.”

With England confirming their ticket in the quarterfinals of the Euros, Bellingham will be looking to once again play an important role against Switzerland and put a bow on his incredibly successful campaign.
