Pep Guardiola says he hopes youngster Oscar Bobb will return to action soon following a long spell out with injury.
The 21-year-old is yet to play this season after breaking his leg last summer and has since suffered setbacks in his recovery.
But the Norway international has returned to training and Guardiola hopes he will be able to play a part for the end of the season.
“Yesterday we spoke with the doctors and he feels really, really good, much better” the Man City boss said.
“He had a problem that was disturbing him and he could not run properly.
“He came back, stopped, came back, stopped, and in the end with the doctors we decided to stop until he felt the little discomfort he had in the ankle can be better and he can train.
“I think he will be (back) for the last part. I think he will be back soon.
“But I said that one month ago and still he’s not here so hopefully this time it can happen.”
Guardiola also says he is delighted to have the attacker closing in on a return, adding: “When everyone saw him in the pre-season they were so excited.
“Oscar is the best. So intelligent, so smart, and the rhythm he plays with.”
Guardiola also revealed that John Stones will not require surgery on the thigh problem but is still set to be out for at least two months with the injury he suffered against Real Madrid.
Ruben Dias, meanwhile, did not start against Liverpool and has had injury problems this season but Guardiola insists he is fully fit and the decision to leave him on the bench was a tactical one.
Erling Haaland remains a doubt for City’s game against Spurs with a knee problem.
