Maduka provides insight into Magesi's decision to sign midfielder Nkanyiso Zungu
Magesi FC head coach John Maduka has outlined the reasoning behind the acquisition of experienced midfielder Nkanyiso Zungu ahead of the 2025/26 Premier Soccer League season.
The Limpopo-based side secured the services of the former Orlando Pirates player after his previous club, Pretoria Callies, sold its PSL status to Lerumo Lions FC. Zungu marked his first appearance for Magesi during their recent 2–0 league defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns at a capacity Seshego Stadium, entering as an 83rd-minute substitute.
Maduka emphasized the value of Zungu’s addition, stating, “Having Zungu in our squad brings important experience and quality. He is a player capable of influencing games through his intelligence and vision, and we believe he will make a significant contribution throughout the season.”
Zungu brings a wealth of top-flight experience, having previously featured for AmaZulu FC, Stellenbosch FC, Richards Bay FC, and Platinum City Rovers.
Magesi will now prepare for their upcoming league encounter against Golden Arrows on Wednesday, 27 August.
