Lukas Ullrich offered contract extension by Borussia Mönchengladbach | OneFootball

Bild reports that Borussia Mönchengladbach have offered left-back Lukas Ullrich a contract extension to deter other clubs.

The 21-year-old has impressed this season at Gladbach after displacing Luca Netz from the starting 11. Then, while at the under-21 Euros with Germany, Ullrich again put in a strong performance against England, not only keeping Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri quiet but also providing the assist for Ansgar Knauff’s opener.

This has resulted in interest from other Bundesliga clubs such as Wolfsburg as well as clubs from England and Italy.

Talks about a contract extension had stalled, but have picked up speed just before the Euros, and Gladbach hope to deter other clubs with a proposed extension. A potential extension will see Ullrich earn around €2.5m per year.

In what ended up being a poor season for Gladbach, where they finished 10th, Ullrich was one of the bright spots, alongside Tim Kleindienst, as he had his breakout season for die Fohlen.
