The Celtic winger joined the Greek side on an initial loan deal in the last few days of the transfer window this year and will have the opportunity to make it a permanent move, should the club wish to exercise their option-to-buy clause at around £3.3 million.
Luis Palma just couldn’t get going in the Hoops despite showing signs of promise throughout his stay in Scotland. Like Alexandro Bernabei, perhaps the culture shift was too much of a shock for Luis and he wasn’t able to adapt properly, whilst there were reports of family issues that had been ongoing since he arrived, which naturally would have kept his mind elsewhere at times.

Celtic did the right thing though letting him go even if it was just on a temporary basis, as the Honduran international is too good a player to be a bench warmer. Heading back to Greece was a great option for him, as it’s a culture and footballing environment that he has experienced before with Aris Thessaloniki, where the Bhoys purchased him from in the summer transfer window of 2023.
Now Luis will have the chance to rediscover his spark and form and will also get the chance to fight in European competition for his current employer. Olympiacos made it through directly to the Last-16 of the competition and will have to wait and see who they will face first, as several other ties are yet to be settled before the round of 16 draw can be made.

Whoever it is, Luis will have the privilege of playing in the European knockouts for the Super League side, as according to Sport24 they have registered Palma alongside two other signings; Andre Horta and Bruno Onyeamaeci. The wide-man won’t be able to get a chance to shoot down Celtic’s rivals this time though, as they are on the same side of the draw and will face either FC Twente or Bodø Glimt.
