Despite a strong start to the season, PSG have slightly fallen off in recent weeks. The Parisiens suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal last week and followed it up with a draw against Nice at the weekend.

It is clear that there are internal tensions in the dressing room, especially after Ousmane Dembele was omitted from the squad for the Champions League clash last week over a clash with the manager.

French journalist Djamel now furthers a report elaborating on the internal conflict at PSG.

Players growing frustrated

According to the journalist, Luis Enrique’s game plans are beginning to annoy PSG players now.

Last season, Kylian Mbappe did not comply with the rules laid down by the manager and thus took up the brunt of his stubbornness, leaving other players on the field free.

This time around, however, the Spanish tactician is uncompromising about what he expects from the players and is heavily restricting the squad on the field.

Enrique’s stubbornness is amplified in his attacking dynamics where he gives precise instructions that must be followed to the T. If the instructions are not followed, players are taken directly back to the dressing room or targeted during analysis.

The manager does not believe in attackers playing deep and several players thus feel that the team is more dangerous in attack when playing without following the game plan.

After all, Enrique demands absolute possession irrespective of the game scenario and opposition.

It remains to be seen how the situation evolves after the international break when PSG return for a crucial part of the season. After all, a manager losing the dressing room has never bode well for any top European team.
