Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique spoke to the media ahead of his side's UEFA Champions League Matchday 6 clash with FC Salzburg at the Stadion Salzburg on Tuesday 10 December (21:00). Excerpts.
'It's a wonderful match to play. Since the start of the Champions League, we've been lucky or unlucky enough to play some top-class matches. Tomorrow's game is vitally important for us. Our aim is to win this game, and we know the risks we run if we don't.'
'The formula remains very clear: we need to create more chances than our opponents, and at the same time concede as few goals as possible. After that, we need to take our chances, and we're working on that. We need to keep pushing.'
'We have a team that gives me confidence, I like what I see. It's working well in Ligue 1, although it's true that it's more difficult in the Champions League. But we have to keep trying to do our best.'
'We'll be playing against an opponent who needs points. They're a team that builds from the back and presses a lot. We have the ball more often than our opponents, which should mean we leave them less space to exploit.'
'Our players are young, but that doesn't necessarily mean they lack experience. I try to get the best out of each of them individually, but above all collectively. I love matches like tomorrow's: they're like finals. We have to win. I never line up my players according to their age, but according to what I see in training and in matches.'
'Lucas has been training hard with us for around a fortnight now. I've called him up because he's fit to play.'
'This is his first season as a coach here. He likes the beautiful game, he has a lot of young players and I'm sure that tomorrow they'll make it very difficult for us. We know they'll do everything to win.'
