Alvaro Morata has once again arisen as a target for AC Milan, and with his situation at Atletico Madrid not secure, the Rossoneri could pounce. However, some things must happen before a move is made.

As is the case with the mercato in general, patience is a virtue, but it cannot become an issue. We have already seen this with Joshua Zirkzee’s situation – Milan have pursued the Dutchman for months, and they remain in the pole position, even if there is a roadblock, but they cannot become restless with it.

Ideally, there would be a solution found already, and there could be one in mind, but with him away at the European Championship, we must now wait until the Netherlands’ path is complete before any major movements are made.

The situation is similar with Alvaro Morata but also vastly different. As Daniele Longo reports for Calciomercato.com, the club must be patient with a decision to be made when the Spaniard returns from the European Championship.

While the Diavolo want the striker present as early as next week, this seems a difficulty with the tournament still ongoing, and the Spanish looking very good. However, it is not the only factor that is in place.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has already met with the striker in person, trying to woo him with the project that Milan are entering and how the Atletico Madrid striker would be central to its success. But the striker must make one decision before a move might be considered.

It is not an easy decision to make either. It is a decision of the heart. The family side of his heart would be happy to move back to Italy, and the player would be too, but the footballing side of his heart, needs to reflect on his time with Atletico, and he must decide if he wants to continue playing where he feels his heart is currently, or where it could be in the future…
