Paulo Fonseca’s position remains strong and rather than parting ways with the manager, AC Milan are willing to let him lead a revolution. According to a report, there could be some significant changes between January and June.
Fonseca didn’t exactly sugarcoat his words after the narrow 2-1 win against Red Star Belgrade, making it clear that he would use Futuro and/or Primavera players if needed. Indeed, he believed the attitude wasn’t worthy of Milan, which most can agree on.
As reported by Daniele Longo, the Milan management supports the manager and have no intention of parting ways. As such, with first Pioli and now Fonseca identifying the same attitude issues, the Rossoneri are willing to let the manager lead a revolution.
In short, this could start in January and continue in the summer, with the likes of Davide Calabria, Theo Hernandez, Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze all hanging on by a thread. Or at the very least, departures are concrete options for them.
Calabria, the captain of the team, has never bonded with Fonseca and his departure is certain, though it’s not clear if it will be in January or in the summer. As for Hernandez, he already seems set on the idea of leaving – with or without the renewal – as Man Utd and Bayern Munich are interested.
Tomori has struggled to get consistent playing time this season and a return to the Premier League is always looming, while the same can be said for Loftus-Cheek. Finally, an eye should also be kept on Noah Okafor who could leave already in January in the event of a good offer.
