Paris Saint-Germain have been keeping a close eye on Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich in recent months, with a transfer for the player nearly happening last summer.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are reportedly also interested in Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah as they aim to strengthen their midfield and defense ahead of the 2025 season.

According to journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl, Bayern Munich have abandoned their efforts to convince Kimmich to accept a pay cut from his current €20 million annual salary.

With his contract set to expire next year and growing interest from top clubs, it now seems unlikely that Kimmich will agree to reduced terms.

CaughtOffside reported on Sunday, citing sources, that Liverpool are among the clubs interested in securing Kimmich on a potential free transfer. The report also mentions that Real Madrid have emerged as a strong contender for the 29-year-old, with Manchester City, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain all keeping close tabs on him.

Despite the competition, CaughtOffside suggests Real Madrid are in a favorable position. The Spanish club has a recent track record of landing high-profile players on free transfers, including Kylian Mbappe and Antonio Rudiger.

Meanwhile, BILD has revealed that Real Madrid have opened initial talks with Kimmich about a possible summer move when his contract with Bayern expires.

In a separate report, BILD noted that Real Madrid view Kimmich as a potential replacement for Toni Kroos. The veteran midfielder is reportedly focused on staying at Bayern Munich and recently met with club officials, though he has yet to make a final decision.
