When Liverpool signed Ben Doak for just £600,000 in 2022, the club knew they were getting a brilliant player.
At just 16, Doak had already made his Celtic debut under manager Ange Postecoglu, and was impressing at youth level for Scotland.
Since signing for Liverpool, Doak has become the youngest Scottish player to make his debut in the Premier League, played four times for his national team and is currently ripping the Championship to shreds on loan at Middlesborough. Not bad for a 19-year-old who spent much of last season out with a knee injury.
If he continues to progress at this pace, it looks like Doak could be one of the players Arne Slot turns to in the future to replace Mohamed Salah - by no means an easy feat.
Now, Liverpool are looking to repeat the trick by bringing yet another Scottish youngster to Anfield.
