Liverpool's impressive young teenage striker Jayden Danns is to join Championship promotion hopefuls Sunderland on loan, multiple reports claim.

The 19-year-old has made an impact in Liverpool's first team, first under Jurgen Klopp during an unprecedented injury crisis in early 2024, and latterly for Arne Slot after returning from a pre-season injury.

Danns returned to action in Liverpool's 4-0 win over Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup third round, and made his first start of the season in the recent 3-2 defeat to Eredivisie giants PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League.

Sky Sports report that Danns has headed to the North East to undergo a medical at Sunderland, who he will join on loan for the rest of the season.

The Black Cats are involved in a four-horse race for promotion to the Premier League, though they have lost ground on current top-two Leeds United and Sheffield United are topping the Championship in the early stages of the campaign.

Sunderland have lost just four times in the 29 matches they have played - winning 15 and drawing the other ten - and look well on course to secure at least a play-off spot given they have an 11-point advantage over sixth-placed West Bromwich Albion.

Danns has made ten appearances for Liverpool's first team in total, scoring three times, and started in the Carabao Cup final win over Chelsea last February, which came courtesy of Virgil van Dijk's extra-time 118th minute header.
