Liverpool inform Real Madrid of exact cost for Ibrahima Konate transfer | OneFootball

According to an update shared by Real Madrid Confidencial, it has come to light that Liverpool have informed Los Blancos they are ready to sell Ibrahima Konate this summer if they receive an offer of €50 million.

After completing four summer signings, Real Madrid have now shifted their focus to Konate.

It is to be noted that the French centre-back has turned down Liverpool’s latest contract extension offer, as he wants to avoid the risk of staying and eventually leaving for free when his current deal ends.

This situation has led Liverpool to consider selling him now to avoid losing him for nothing next summer.

Real Madrid and Konate want the same outcome

Reports suggest that Konate has made it clear to Liverpool that his priority is joining Real Madrid, as he sees the Spanish giants as the perfect next step in his career.

He believes moving to Madrid will give him the chance to compete for more trophies, be part of an ambitious project, and create history at the Santiago Bernabeu.

For now, Real Madrid’s board is carefully studying the possibility of making a formal offer. While the €50 million price tag is lower than what was quoted last summer, it is still more than what Madrid are willing to pay.

As reported before, the club would prefer a deal closer to €25 million, a fee Liverpool may refuse but might eventually have to accept. With Konate eligible to leave for free next summer, Liverpool know they are under pressure.

Following the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool do not want to lose another key player. But with Konate determined to make the move and Real Madrid remaining patient, the Spanish club are confident the transfer will happen.
