Liverpool center back Ibrahima Konaté has yet to agree to a contract extension with the Reds so far this summer. As a result, it’s fueling speculation about a potential move amid links to PSG and Real Madrid.
According to Diario AS, Real Madrid are interested in signing Konaté this summer but only if Liverpool lower their asking price. The Spanish club is reportedly prepared to offer between €20 million and €25 million, while Liverpool are holding out for around €50 million.
With Konaté believed to be open to the move, Madrid are unlikely to meet that valuation and could instead wait until 2026, when the defender would be available as a free agent.
Foot Mercato also reported that Konaté has been offered to several top European clubs, including PSG, Real Madrid, and Barcelona—raising the possibility of a move once his contract expires.

Diario AS reports that Real Madrid are weighing up a late move for Konaté, but there’s a big gap in valuation. Liverpool are holding firm at €50 million, while the Spanish club aren’t willing to go higher than €25 million.
Recently, journalist David Lynch, who focuses on all things Liverpool FC, shared his thoughts on the Konaté situation and where the player might be headed—whether he stays to extend his contract with Liverpool or explores opportunities with clubs like PSG or Real Madrid.
“Real Madrid are clearly interested aren’t they – there is no question about that! But speaking to people close to Konaté, I still get the feeling that his priority is to renew with Liverpool and there are talks there, but it is kind of stuck at the moment,” Lynch said on the Sports Mole YouTube channel.
“I don’t think it has reached the point of no return and the player has definitely decided he wants to go to Real Madrid, I don’t get that feeling at all. That’s not to say that it won’t end in that way because that possibility is 100 percent on the table, but we are still in the moment where there is hope there will be a breakthrough.”
