Liverpool forward left out of pre-season tour with exit mooted | OneFootball

Federico Chiesa has been left out of the Liverpool squad for the club’s pre-season tour with an exit expected.

Chiesa signed for Liverpool from Juventus last summer but struggled to break into Arne Slot’s plans. The Italian started just once in the Premier League and totalled only 104 minutes of league action during the 2024/25 campaign.

Several sides in Serie A have been linked with signing Chiesa and a decision has now been made to leave the 27-year-old out of the pre-season squad. AC Milan, Fiorentina and Napoli have been named as potential suitors.

Slot’s squad head to Asia to step up their preparations for the Premier League campaign. The champions are travelling to Hong Kong to begin a trip that also includes a match in Japan.

Luis Diaz was not part of the Liverpool squad for Sunday’s behind-closed-doors friendly with Stoke City but will join the pre-season squad.

The Colombia international has expressed interest in leaving Anfield this summer and has been subject of interest from Bayern Munich.
