Gomez made 243 appearances for Liverpool, providing 10 assists.
He has helped the club win multiple titles, including two Premier League trophies and one Champions League title.
Liverpool will receive €15 million to let him leave Merseyside and join the 19-time Italian champions. He has failed to convince manager Arne Slot.
Slot has used Gomez sparingly since he joined the club last summer. Gomez, who has won 15 England caps, has made only 19 appearances under the Dutchman.
With the Reds trying to add Marc Guehi on top of Virgil Van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, and new signing Giovanni Leoni, the writing is on the wall for Gomez.
Milan are crying out for a defender with his qualities, and he can prove a crucial asset as they bid to bounce back from an atrocious 2024/25 campaign.
They want an experienced defender to sit in the middle of the back three, mopping up behind the two more aggressive wide centre-backs. Gomez can excel in that role.
Selling Gomez takes Liverpool’s summer sales beyond €219.50 million.
The Reds have shattered transfer records to sign big-name players, but they have also sold well to balance the books.
Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Jarell Quansah, Ben Gannon-Doak and Caoimhin Kelleher left the club this summer.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Tyler Morton, and Nat Phillips followed them out of Anfield as the Reds reshaped their squad for the season.
Liverpool are well-positioned to retain their Premier League title after a brilliant summer transfer window.
