Liverpool have confirmed today’s Premier League clash with Manchester United will go ahead as planned.
The fixture had been placed in doubt due to snow in the North West of England on Sunday, though there will be no postponement of the game.
Just last month, Liverpool saw the Merseyside Derby with Everton postponed earlier due to weather concerns. That fixture was postponed amid safety concerns due to severe weather and high winds but the Reds have confirmed the clash with Manchester United will not be impacted after ‘two safety meetings’ to discuss weather and travel conditions.
“Today’s fixture against Manchester United will go ahead as planned. Two safety meetings were held earlier to assess the weather and travel conditions,” a club statement read.
“We thank everyone involved in helping us to get this game on today. If you’re travelling to Anfield then please take extra care. We look forward to seeing you there.”
