In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Liverpool are locked in a three-way battle for Brighton and Hove Albion winger Yankuba Minteh. It has been stated that the Reds would have to rival Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to land the Gambian wide player.

Minteh’s Good Run Of Form In The Premier League

Minteh enjoyed a decent campaign at the English club after he put in a run of impressive performances for them in the Premier League. The 20-year-old banged in seven goals and grabbed five assists in 37 matches for the Seagulls last season on all fronts.

The Gambian winger deserves a ton of credit for averaging 1.66 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has done well to keep 47.1% of his attempts on target. However, Minteh has to find a way to improve his ball distribution after completing just 62.5% of his attempted passes in the English top flight (stats via fbref.com).

Minteh is under contract at the American Express Community Stadium until the summer of 2029 which could make it tough for the Reds to land him on the cheap this off-season.

Should Liverpool Boss Arne Slot Snap Minteh Up This Summer?

Minteh is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and has got the eye to create a few inviting chances for his teammates to find the back of the net. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals from the wide areas.

The Gambian sensation is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also function as a left-winger if asked to do so. He has already proven his worth in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the Merseyside club.

We can expect Minteh to bring more quality and depth to Liverpool boss Arne Slot’s attack. He is more than capable of serving as a good squad player for the Reds in the coming seasons.

At 20, Minteh has the potential to be a future star in English football. Therefore, it makes sense for the Merseyside giants to go all out to snap him up in this summer transfer window.
