Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez is attracting interest from Liverpool and Manchester United, with both clubs seeking new full-backs.

Manchester United will be busy looking ahead to the January transfer window over the next few weeks.

After a slow start to the season and a change in management, Ruben Amorim takes charge of the team as head coach and will be looking to make some additions to his team in January.

It remains to be seen whether Amorim will have a transfer kitty to complete permanent signings or be restricted to loan deals.

Amorim’s first match as United boss will be an away trip to Ipswich Town this weekend.

Away from the action on the pitch, United are being linked with several players to bolster the squad in the future. Some of these targets won’t be leaving their clubs midway through the season, but these deals can be worked on ahead of the summer to smoothen the process.

However, rumours already speculate it could be a busy start to the 2025 for the Reds.

A report from TEAMtalk states that United could have a battle on their hands to sign Bournemouth full-back Milos Kerkez, after baulking at his £40m price tag in the summer.

It comes after Anfield Watch states Liverpool have asked for permission to hold talks with Kerkez, who is being classed as a top target.

Is Milos Kerkez what Manchester United need?

There are several problems with the first team such as a lack of goals, but arguably the biggest problem comes from the fact all of our recognised left-backs are injured.

Neither Luke Shaw or Tyrell Malacia have been seen this season and Diogo Dalot has had to fill the void on his least favoured flank.

Kerkez would walk into the United team right now, but only time will tell if Bournemouth will lower their price demands for the wing back.

If Kerkez proves too expensive, I suspect United will look elsewhere in the market because we need to be less reliant on Shaw, who spends too much time in the treatment room.

Shaw has not played a competition game for United since February, despite representing England in the latter stages of Euro 2024 during the summer.  It was a slap in the face to the club when he jetted off to Germany and we’ve not seen him since.
