Liverpool and Schalke legend Joël Matip retires from football | OneFootball

Joël Matip has announced his retirement from football at the age of 33.

Matip leaves the game after a 15-year professional career that saw him star for both Schalke and Liverpool.

The Cameroon international played almost 200 Bundesliga games for the German side, winning the DGB Pokal in 2011.

But it was at Anfield that the towering centre-back grew his legend, playing 150 times in the Premier League and winning six major titles, including the Champions League.
