Juventus and Milan briefly discussed a trade involving Dusan Vlahovic and Theo Hernandez, but it didn’t advance much because of the requests of the Serbian striker, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
New director Damien Comolli has yet to talk with him and his agents. However, there’s not much hope the parties will come to terms on a renewal. He’s for sale, but it won’t happen quickly. The Bianconeri wish that a team willing to hand him a large salary will eventually emerge.
In the preliminary talks with Milan, the Vlahovic camp suggested they could accept a three-year deal with €8.5M net wages, down from his current €12M, but it’s still too high, while Juventus would have an easier time meeting the demands of Theo Hernandez.
The Old Lady is waiting for news from the forward’s entourage, which is looking for a buyer. He’s not generating much interest in the Premier League, which is his top destination. The Rossoneri could resurface late in the window if nothing better came around.
According to the publication, the Bianconeri were actually at a good point in a swap with Napoli involving Victor Osimhen. The Serb would have transferred with a €15M price tag, while the Galatasaray loanee would have been valued at €75M. However, it was orchestrated before Antonio Conte decided to stay when the Azzurri thought Massimiliano Allegri was going to be their coach.
It’s optimistic he’d settle for wages below the eight-digit threshold, and the pool of clubs willing to offer that is very small. The Old Lady should definitely move on, but their execs will have to be patient. A trade is the best way to salvage the situation.
