Bailey Cadamarteri joined Lincoln City on loan from Sheffield Wednesday in the summer
Lincoln City boss Michael Skubala has claimed that Sheffield Wednesday are pleased with Bailey Cadamarteri’s loan spell with the League One side.
The 19-year-old joined the Imps in the summer on a season-long loan deal, and has so far made 16 appearances in the third division.
The youngster has contributed three goals, with Skubala’s side in the mix for a play-off place as we approach the halfway mark in the campaign.
Cadamarteri bagged his sixth goal in all competitions midweek by scoring the winner against Morecambe in their 1-0 victory in the second round of the EFL Trophy.
Skubala has praised Cadamarteri’s improvement since joining the club at the start of the season.
He has claimed that talks have been held with Sheffield Wednesday over his progress, and that his parent club are pleased with his level of performance.
“Like all the players that are fighting for minutes he will want more, but he’s progressing well, we’re seeing improvements in his game all the time,” said Skubala, via the BBC.
“He’s got a good eye for goal, and got another good goal against Morecambe, but it’s his all-round game that probably needs progressing.
“Sometimes, like Danny Röhl says, they come to be loaned and develop, but part of that is trying to get in the team, trying to get in against other experienced players, and I think he’s fighting for his place like every other player.
“But his attitude is fantastic, his work ethic is fantastic, and his parent club, Sheffield Wednesday, are really happy as well because he’s seeing a progression in his all-round game.
“If he keeps growing he’s growing he’s going to be a really good player hopefully for us in the future, but also for Sheffield Wednesday.”
Cadamarteri is progressing well with Lincoln, and the Owls have every reason to be pleased with that.
The forward has plenty of potential, and is already contributing well to a team competing high up the League One table.
While Rohl might believe he's not quite be ready for the Championship right now, this loan spell will prove very beneficial for preparing him for life in the second tier with Sheffield Wednesday.
This will be exactly what Rohl would’ve wanted when this deal was agreed back in the summer, as Cadamarteri is receiving plenty of game time and is steadily improving as he gains more and more experience.
